People who are close to me, to my behaviors,and emotions, know that I have a high temper. So I definitely need to learn to control it and also implement it. To be honest I tried a lot to control it, not to get angry but Today also, my anger know when to show up. So this is one of my next try to control my temper i.e writing about it and making known to you all. I hope this attempt will help me a lot to think positive and be positive. Ways to control anger are different according to the person. So here, I have listed some of the ways I think and prefer that will help you to be calm and reduce your anger.
1. Own it
You just need to pretend like you are OK. You must think that you are not angry and you are fine. You should not over think about the topic and make your temper high.
2. Share carefully
Sharing is the best way to keep calm and forget what just happened. If there is a friend or loved one you trust, sharing your feelings with them can sometimes be cathartic. Sometimes you just can't keep things to yourself and you need to pour them to someone.
3. Think before you speak
In the heat of the moment, it is easy to say something you'll later regret. So you should think and speak carefully.
4. Once you're calm, express your anger
You don't know what you are doing or saying when you are angry. So just stop and do not act and say anything when you are at the high level of your temper. Instead express your anger once you are calm . Express your frustration in an assertive but confrontational way. State your concerns and needs clearly and directly without hurting others or trying to control them.
5. Get some exercises
Physical activity can reduce stress that can cause you to become angry. If you feel your anger escalating go for a walk or run, or spend some time doing other physical activities.
6. Take a timeout
Break always helps things to tie up. One should take breaks to think and rethink. A few moments of quiet time might help you feel better prepared to handle what's ahead without getting irritated and frustrated.
7. Find possible solutions
Every problem has got it's solution somewhere. So you just need to identity them and implement them. If you are angry with someone then you should talk to them instead of thinking yourself and hurting yourself. When you are angry, you just need to give a try, then there you will find a solution.
At the end, the best way to control your anger is try not to get angry and keep your temper low. Keep calm and smile.
